Busan

Placed between mountains, rivers and the sea, it is a metropolitan city that is constructed within narrow valleys and mountain steps. A population of 3.6 million people, it is the second largest city after Seoul, as well as the second largest port city in South Korea, and it is the fifth largest port in the world.


Having hosted the 2002 Asian Games and APEC 2005 Korea, in addition to been one of the host cities for the 2002 FIFA world cup, its international accreditation, is growing on a yearly basis. While hosting the Pusan international film festival every year, it also, is home to the world's largest department store, the Shinsegae Centum City.

Hot spots to visit

Nakdonggang Estuary

A natural eco-system, surrounded by sand dunes, islands, deltas and a river mouth. An oasis for migratory birds, be it in any season, over 150 different migratory birds flock to this region.



Beomeosa Temple

Constructed 1,300 years ago by monk Ui Sang, it is situated at the edge of Mt. Geumjeongsan. An architectural marvel, depicting the architectural designs of the Joseon, with the complex containing a three-story pagoda, with four pillars, while all together been entwined in the wisteria woods, and the valleys.



Taejongdae Resort

Enthralled with many myths and tales, from gods to mortals, the enchanting beauty of this place, is not only its history, but also its spectacular scenery, surrounded by pines forests and 200 other varieties of trees, amidst the beauty of the sea.



Songjeong Beach

Steeped with tradition, such as the Harvest full-moon seaweed festival and the Songjeong beach festival. It is a beach ideal for families, with a long sandy beach that stretches 1.2 km, while at the same time, dotted with facilities that can accommodate the needs of any holiday maker.



Haeundae Beach

Much like Songjeong, Haeundae is filled with various cultural festivals throughout the year. At 1.5 km long with sandy beaches 30-50 meters wide, it is a classical white sand beach, with the sticky sand, and the countless sea shells, eroded by the natural elements overtime.



Gwangalli Beach

A truly modernized beach, as the area has undergone a water cleaning program, while much like the other beaches in Busan, it is filled with high rises and holiday outlets. Having a pristine, white sand beach 1.4 km long, with fisherman dotting the sands occasionally, and rental yacht's, jet-skiing, windsurfing and other water sports an attractive option, rather then idling about on the beach, Gwangalli is very much a holiday destination.
